About the Author

Andrew, or Andrew as he is otherwise known, is a well known international blogger, publishing since May 2024.  Famous across the Kalahari, Antarctic plains, and the more remote parts of the Sahara, it has been opined that he may in fact be followed by more people without computers or internet access than any other blogger. 


Andrew and his partner of 30 years, “Daniella the Long Suffering”, will be travelling through Italy and into Paris during the dying days of Spring.  They are believed to be the 100 millionth people to undertake this trek, but nonetheless are sufficiently self-deluded to believe that they can post something that is remotely interesting to seasoned international travellers.

 It’s finally time!  We jet off for Italia in moments and we’re ready and excited. “Wowee Bruce, the Corks are off to a fast start”

23 hours is a long time to sit in an Economy seat, even on Singapore Airlines. (For those following this blog that don’t know what “Economy” is, it’s the place behind the curtain where you can vaguely hear crying babies, incessant coughing, and the occasional boorish yell…it’s a bit like District 12 in The Hunger Games).  However the prize at the end was always going to be worth the pain of the transfer. For the record I’m giving Singapore an 8.035 for their Economy service. For those interested the Algorithm i used it’s available for sale on Craig’s List.  Rome is amazing.  Landed at 9am, and through customs into the city proper before 10:30.  Unfortunately room wasn’t ready until 2, but the plus side is we wandered aimlessly for 3.5 hours and you can see from the photos below the incredible sites we have visited already. No idea what they were, nor in truth where they were, but they were cool nonetheless.   After that it was off for a late lunch / early dinner at Salumeria Con Cucina
